Jazz Girls Day
April 26 @ 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM EDT
Free
Charleston Jazz is pleased to partner with Dr. Colleen Clark and the University of South Carolina School of Music on Jazz Girls Day.
This workshop is designed to inspire girls to play jazz!
In collaboration with the University of South Carolina Department of Jazz, Charleston Jazz Academy proudly presents the annual Jazz Girls Day—an open invitation for middle and high school girls to join a day of masterclasses, meaningful connections, live performances, and an exciting jam session.
The mission of Jazz Girls Day is to inspire and empower young women through a day devoted to learning, playing, and performing jazz. This program not only welcomes girls to begin or continue their jazz journey but also encourages music educators to actively support and promote young women in jazz.
Open to all instrumentalists and vocalists—whether traditional or non-traditional, and at any skill level—Jazz Girls Day is an inclusive and supportive experience. The only requirement is that participants are middle or high school students who identify as female. Accompanying adults are warmly welcomed to join in the celebration!
FREE—please RSVP above.
