Charleston Jazz offers Jazz Combo instruction at Haut Gap Middle School and St. John’s High School on John’s Island to provide an opportunity for students who may not have access to jazz instruction otherwise. These programs aim to engage young musicians in the rich tradition of jazz music, teaching them the fundamentals of improvisation, ensemble playing, and music theory. By bringing these resources directly to the students, Charleston Jazz helps to foster a love and appreciation for jazz music while also developing their musical skills in a supportive and inspiring environment. Through these programs, students have the chance to explore their creativity, collaborate with their peers, and experience the joy of making music together.
