Kevin Hackler

Kevin Hackler serves on the board of Charleston Jazz and has been a trumpet player with the Charleston Jazz Orchestra since its founding in 2008. A native of Galax, Virginia who grew up in North Myrtle Beach, Kevin moved to Charleston in 1999 to study music at the College of Charleston.

At college, he was a trumpet student of Charlton Singleton, graduating with a BA in Music in 2003. After dedicating several years to performance, Kevin pursued a new path at the Charleston School of Law, earning his JD and joining the South Carolina Bar in 2012.

Today, Kevin works as an attorney at Grimball & Cabaniss in Charleston, focusing on business law and civil litigation, while continuing to perform with the CJO. He is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the Charleston County Bar, and the James L. Petigru American Inn of Court. Kevin lives on Johns Island with his wife and two sons, and enjoys fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.
