All Blues

Trace the roots of jazz back to the blues in All Blues, a week-long exploration of the blues form—from its earliest expressions to modern interpretations. Students will deepen their understanding of groove, phrasing, and storytelling while building strong ensemble and improvisation skills.

This project is funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts

Ages: 7th grade and up

Charleston Jazz Academy’s Jazz Combo Camp is our signature summer program for young musicians of all levels. Through hands-on learning in improvisation, rhythm, music theory, and ensemble playing, students work with professional jazz artists in a fun, supportive environment—building skills, friendships, and a lifelong love of jazz.
