CHARLESTON, SC – June 7, 2018 – Charleston Jazz announces that The Charlton Singleton Quintet will perform in the Dinner + Show Series at Dockery’s on Daniel Island on June 21, 2018 with dinner beginning at 5pm and the show beginning at 8pm. Celebrated as one of Charleston’s most accomplished musicians, Charlton Singleton leads his all-star group through a night of originals and popular jazz standards. The band draws on many styles of music, but always brings their Lowcountry flavor to the presentation. This will be the first of three performances presented by Charleston Jazz at Dockery’s during summer 2018.

The Charlton Singleton Quintet includes five of the most talented jazz artists in Charleston including Charlton Singleton (trumpet), Quentin Baxter (drums), Mark Sterbank (saxophone), Kevin Hamilton (bass), and Richard Harris White, Jr. (piano).

Charlton Singleton, Quentin Baxter and Kevin Hamilton are all members of the band Ranky Tanky, a group that has soared to #1 positions on Billboard, iTunes and Amazon jazz charts since the launch of their first album in 2017. Mark Sterbank is the Director of Jazz Studies at Charleston Southern University, and is a featured saxophonist with the Charleston Jazz Orchestra. Richard Harris White, Jr. is one of Charleston’s most talented jazz pianists and performs throughout Charleston.

“This will be our first jazz concert on the Dockery’s stage and we’re thrilled to bring this caliber of jazz talent to Daniel Island,” said Chuck Isenberg, Dockery’s general manager. “This is all part of our mission to deliver live music, delicious food, and great experiences for our guests.”

Proceeds from the concert will support the Charleston Jazz Academy.  “Every ticket sold supports music scholarships for students in need at the Charleston Jazz Academy,” said Mary Beth Natarajan, Executive Director at Charleston Jazz.

Tickets for dinner and a show are priced at $50 plus applicable fees. The $50 ticket includes a three-course prix fixe menu and entry into the show. Dinner reservations must be made between 5:00pm and 6:45pm in the Listening Room before the 8:00pm show.

Dockery’s is located at 880 Island Park Drive, Daniel Island, SC 29492.
