The International African American Museum and Charleston Jazz are pleased to partner in presenting KEYS & CONVERSATIONS: FEATURING MOMENTUM.
Momentum is what happens when jazz collides with fusion, R&B, soul, jazz, and gospel. Warning: Things might get a little funky, and we can’t guarantee you’ll stay in your seat! Brought to you by Charleston Jazz, this powerhouse ensemble features some of the finest musicians in the Lowcountry. Led by Demetrius Doctor, Momentum draws inspiration from the repertoires of Stevie Wonder, Jon Batiste, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Jill Scott, Snarky Puppy, and more.
ABOUT KEYS & CONVERSATIONS
The International African American Museum’s KEYS & CONVERSATIONS series provides youth and families the opportunity to witness performances and engage with musicians in specialized conversations on a variety of musical topics. Showcasing a diverse range of musicians, genres, and performance styles, this program provides a fun and engaging introduction to musical selections while also exploring connections between them and topics/themes throughout history.
