Charleston Jazz is pleased to partner with the Gibbes Museum on the Art of Jazz music series!
The highly anticipated Art of Jazz Series is where art and music collide. A collaboration with the Gibbes Museum, this annual three-concert series showcases original jazz music inspired by works on display at the museum. This one-of-a-kind musical experience has become very popular and sells out fast.
About the Performer:
Originating from Charleston, SC, Nolan Tecklenburg is a jazz pianist with a love for New Orleans. He began by studying piano at the age of 5 and continued his studies at Loyola University down in New Orleans. While in the Big Easy he was able to craft his own sound through listening and playing with some of the best local musicians. He spearheaded a project called NuSpeak, which would go on to play at Tipitina’s and other local venues. At the same time he would gig with his trio throughout the city and end up playing at Jazz Fest as well. After graduating from college he moved back to his hometown where he is now a staple piano player throughout the Charleston area.
