Jacien Steele is a retired senior tax partner with Deloitte. He and his wife, Laura, an artist, moved to Charleston from Atlanta following his retirement in 2015 and immediately connected with Charleston Jazz.
He held a number of client and firm leadership roles with Deloitte. He served as the National Managing Partner for Strategic Client Tax Services and was a member of the Global Tax Leadership Group. He served on the Nominating Committee for the US Board of Directors and was a member of the Board Council. He maintained the firm’s relationship with the Tax Executive Institute and the Tax Council Policy Institute. He chaired the Tax Partner Compensation Committee and was a member of the firm’s Pandemic Response Committee. He was the tax liaison for the Deloitte CFO Program and a faculty member of the Deloitte CFO Academy and Tax Leadership Academy.
For the last three years, he was a specialist in Executive Transition and a member of the Deloitte Executive Transition Experience labs, which he helped build.
He was on the board of two child welfare organizations during his tenure in Atlanta and is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta.
