
Kenneth Hirsch is a results-oriented attorney and business executive with a background in negotiating and drafting contracts, effecting transactions and managing litigation. He has a broad spectrum of legal and business experience.
He led teams managing and negotiating complex IT outsourcing transactions for Siemens Corporation, was COO and General Counsel for Mensana Diagnostics, a start-up company with technology-based medical information tools, Vice President- Legal and Government A’airs and Chief of Sta’ for the Vice Chairman for The Equitable Life Assurance Society, Executive Vice President, General Counsel for American International Airways a publicly held scheduled airline, Executive Vice President, General Counsel for Educational Audio Visual, an educational multimedia publisher, and Associate Attorney for Hale Russell & Gray, handling primarily corporate and securities matters.
Ken’s educational background includes a BA degree from University College, New York University and a JD degree from Columbia University School of Law and was admitted to the Bar He has extensive Board and other service experience, including President of the Eastchester NY Board of Education, member of the Board of Eastchester Family Services, a United Way Agency, committees of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and member of the Board of the USCB Center for the Arts.
Ken’s passion for jazz started in high school in upstate NY when he first heard Miles Davis recordings, and continued when he attended school in New York City, where he was privileged to see and hear many of the great jazz icons from the 1960s on. His concomitant interest in education included serving on committees of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York focused on education, and on his local School Board. Charleston Jazz combines both of these interests.
Ken, and his wife, Sherry, moved from Stamford, CT to Beaufiort, SC in 2007 and to Charleston in 2019, where they enjoy the vibrant music and arts scene.
