Originally from London\, England\, Pete now calls Charleston home and has traveled extensively\, performing at New York’s Lincoln Center\, the Royal Festival Hall in London\, the Cannes Film Festival\, and various venues in New Orleans\, Paris\, Singapore\, and Sidney. Pete’s early playing years were heavily influenced by the ‘Swing Era’ of the 1930s and 40s\, especially that of Benny Goodman\, whom he still holds in great esteem. Today\, Pete’s style still encompasses that of Benny and his contemporaries but is much enhanced by other clarinet greats such as Buddy de Franco\, Tony Scott\, and Eddie Daniels. \n  \nPete Neighbour – Clarinet \nBert Ligon – Piano \nSam Edwards – Bass \nEdwin G. Hamilton – Drums \n  \nConcert Length: 60 min (no intermission) \nDoors Open: 5:30PM \n  \nThe Charleston Jazz Festival is sponsored in part by MUSC.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/5″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/5″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/5″][vc_single_image image=”14171″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/5″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/5″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”18898″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”18899″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1706718931823{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]\nWatch this clip from a Pete Neighbour performance!\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/CnWW5-zpyT4″][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]\n  \nIMPORTANT INFORMATION\n[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_accordion style=”flat” shape=”square” active_section=”1″][vc_tta_section title=”The Experience” tab_id=”1687923810144-42574a89-d6c9″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1706719804671{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Celebrated as one of the best things to do in Charleston\, SC\, the Charleston Jazz Festival is an unforgettable experience.  If you are new to the jazz genre\, take a risk and surprise yourself.  Jazz is an integral part of Charleston’s history and culture.  Lowcountry Gullah and Geechie praise house rhythms have been passed down through the generations\, leaving a distinctive and indelible mark on the jazz art form.  As one of the early cradles of jazz\, Charleston is proud to host this annual festival in one of the most significant jazz destinations in the world. \nWhen you walk through the doors of the Music Farm\, you are stepping back in time to a circa 1849 passenger train station. This hip\, intimate venue offers a bar with a wide variety of beverage options. The Music Farm is also home to Tully’s\, a tiny kitchen serving burgers\, veggie burgers\, fries\, and more. \nOur audience is diverse and you will see patrons of all ages and walks of life\, including couples\, singles\, students\, families\, and groups of friends – jazz has never met a stranger and all are welcome.  Many of our guests are tourists visiting Charleston\, and some of our regular attendees have been coming to concerts since the beginning of the organization.  We hope that you will become one of our “regulars” as well by joining the Charleston Jazz family by becoming a Season Subscriber\, Member\, Sponsor\, Donor\, Student or Advertiser.  There is a place for YOU at Charleston Jazz. \n  \nThe caliber of performances are spectacular. Their musical selections appeal to all musical tastes regardless of age.  \n★ ★ ★ ★ ★ \nLil H.\, Google Review \n  \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1701113883540{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Watch this recap from the 2023 Charleston Jazz Festival:[/vc_column_text][vc_video max_width=”600″ link=”https://youtu.be/NVSWPXc9Aog”][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Venue + Parking” tab_id=”1687723528215-f19b02d2-f471″][vc_gmaps link=”#E-8_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”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1707169475811{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Venue: \nMusic Farm \n32 Ann St.\, Charleston\, SC 29403 \n  \nParking: \n  \nCharleston Visitor Center Lot \n375 Meeting St.\, Charleston\, SC 29403 \n  \nCharleston Visitor Center Garage\n73 Mary St.\, Charleston\, SC 29403[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Accessibility” tab_id=”1687724312025-f57a013d-e1d1″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1706719919042{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]For questions about accessibility and ADA seating\, visit musicfarm.com/faq or\, call our Box Office at 843-641-0011.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Dining” tab_id=”1687723413076-386a4dee-cfe0″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1706719973379{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]In-Venue Dining \nTully’s \n  \nNearby Dining: \nHalls Chophouse \nO-Ku Sushi \nStars Rooftop & Grill Room \n39 Rue de Jean \nCoast Bar & Grill \nAzul Mexican \n  \nNote: These links are provided for your convenience.  Charleston Jazz does not represent or endorse any of these services.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Lodging” tab_id=”1690991452233-167d19f1-e196″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1707496740213{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Official Lodging Partner: \nReceive an exclusive discount when you book your rooms at The Restoration Hotel! \nThe Restoration Hotel \n  \nNearby Lodging: \nHampton Inn \nHotel Bennett \nThe Dewberry \nEmbassy Suites \nThe Francis Marion \nThe Courtyard by Marriott \n  \nNote: These links are provided for your convenience.  Charleston Jazz does not represent or endorse any of these services.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Transportation” tab_id=”1687923756328-9fc48bf1-8432″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1690995908967{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Bus Services: \nThe CARTA bus system offers a free downtown shuttle called the DASH.  Visit their site for map and schedule here. \n  \nCar Services: \nThere are a variety of local transportation services available including taxis\, Uber and Lyft. \n  \nPedi Cab Services \nCharleston Pedi Cab \nCharleston Bike Taxi \nCharleston Rickshaw \n  \nNote: These links are provided for your convenience.  Charleston Jazz does not represent or endorse any of these services.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Refreshments” tab_id=”1691006587473-4c040d12-206d”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1706720112780{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Beverages are available for purchase at the bar.
