DESCRIPTION:Join us for the kick-off of our fall brunch series in Hampton Park from 11 AM to 2 PM on Sunday\, September 25! Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy a performance by the Charleston Jazz Express featuring 10 members of the Charleston Jazz Orchestra while relaxing in Hampton Park at the Rose Pavilion\, 30 Mary Murray Drive in Charleston. \nLocal food trucks will have delicious food available for purchase in addition to and beer and wine available for purchase from Graft Wine Shop. \nTickets are $25 and free admission for children 12 and under. Click the “Tickets” button above to make your purchase. \nThe Charleston Parks Conservancy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring the people of Charleston to connect with their parks and together create stunning public places and a strong community. All proceeds from this event support our mission to keep Charleston’s parks beautiful. \nAbout Charleston Jazz Express \nThe Charleston Jazz Express will perform Sounds of the Lowcountry with guest vocalist Zandrina Dunning. America’s greatest art form may have been born in New Orleans\, but the Lowcountry was quite arguably one of the early incubators of jazz. One of the greatest influences on jazz history in the Holy City was the Jenkins Orphanage Band\, producing jazz greats such as William “Cat” Anderson\, Jabbo Smith and Freddie Green. Based on the rhythms of the Gullah/Geechee Culture\, that Lowcountry Swing can be found in some of our favorite tunes – Until I Met You\, Tuxedo Junction\, and Porgy & Bess.
