CHARLESTON, SC – June 27, 2018 – Charleston Jazz and Dockery’s announce the second DINNER + SHOW concert to be held July 19 at the Dockery’s Restaurant and Listening Room on Daniel Island. This second concert will celebrate the music of West Coast jazz icon Chet Baker featuring the Jon Thornton Quartet.

Jon Thornton has performed with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and Natalie Cole’s ‘Unforgettable’ Orchestra and will present a warm tribute to one of the most beloved trumpet players and vocalists in the world, Chet Baker. Chet rose to fame in the 1950’s as a leader of the West Coast Cool Jazz scene. The song list will include such Chet Baker classics as Time After TimeLet’s Get Lost, and My Funny Valentine.

The Jon Thornton Quartet includes four talented Charleston jazz artists including Jon Thornton (trumpet and vocal), Frank Puzzullo (Piano), Jeremy Wolf (Bass), and Edwin Hamilton (Drums).

“We’re excited to continue this summer jazz series at Dockery’s,” said Mary Beth Natarajan, Executive Director at Charleston Jazz. “We are especially grateful to the Southeastern Spine Institute for being a sponsor. The sponsorship proceeds help fund scholarships for emerging youth jazz artists at the Charleston Jazz Academy.”

Tickets for dinner and a show are priced at $60 with tax and gratuity included in the ticket price. The $60 ticket includes a three-course prix fixe menu and entry into the show. Dinner reservations must be made between 5:00pm and 6:45pm in the Listening Room before the 8:00pm show.
