As America’s “Classical” music\, Jazz combines spontaneity with the technical mastery of a composition. With LIVE AT FIREFLY: Symphonic Swing – Jazz Meets the Classics\, your Charleston Jazz Orchestra will bring the world of improvisation and swing to notable Classical compositions\, bridging the gap\, bending the genres\, and introducing the styles of Miles Davis\, Thelonious Monk and Billie Holiday to Mozart\, Tchaikovsky and Beethoven to name a few. \n“Some of our favorite concerts highlight the writing/arranging talents of our local jazz community. In this show\, we’ll be presenting a full slate of brand-new charts based on popular melodies from the classical tradition.
