In the words of Ellington\, “music is how I live\, why I live and how I will be remembered.” Throughout his 50-year career\, Ellington wrote a few long-form multi-movement works\, using the suite format to give his jazz a more empowering meaning\, resonance and purpose. On March 26\, 2022\, your Charleston Jazz Orchestra will showcase two memorable\, vital and innovative suites from Ellington’s late career – The New Orleans Suite and The Far East Suite.
