Soda City Brass Band

The Soda City Brass Band, from Columbia, SC is dominated by a muscular horn section, sounding like the next step in a tradition that includes bands like the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and the immortal Preservation Hall Jazz Band. They are a groove machine that brings together modern and traditional sounds found on the streets of New Orleans. They were formed by trumpeter Mark Rapp, who was recently acknowledged by the State House of Representatives as the Jazz Ambassador of Columbia and the State of South Carolina.
