Mark Sterbank – Forte Jazz Lounge

Forte Jazz Lounge is Charleston’s only strictly jazz venue. Jazz is always on-tap with the best musicians performing every week.

Mark Sterbank is Associate Professor of Jazz Studies and Saxophone at Charleston Southern University. His first CD of original compositions Dayspring, released in 2014, was featured on Sirius XM Radio’s Real Jazz. He has released two CDs of jazz hymns and spirituals and presents an annual concert featuring his Hymns and Spirituals arrangements.

Mark’s credits include performances with the Harry Connick, Jr. Orchestra, the Darius Rucker Big Band, the Jimmy Dorsey Band, René Marie, Fred Wesley, Eartha Kitt, the Temptations and regularly performs with the Quentin Baxter Quintet, the Charlton Singleton Quintet, and is tenor saxophonist and arranger for the Charleston Jazz Orchestra.

The first show of the night begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. and the second starts at 9:30 p.m. with doors opening at 9:00 p.m. Our guests are welcome to come early. Beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.

Shows are at 7pm and 9:30pm

• VIP —— couch style seating $27

• Premium –table seating $22

• General —high table and bar seating $17
